Step by step
- 1Divide the part by the total: =B2/C2 (for example, sales ÷ target).
- 2Select the cell and apply Percent format (Ctrl+Shift+5).
- 3The decimal now shows as a percentage, e.g. 0.25 becomes 25%.
Tips
- To find a value as a percent of a column total, use =B2/SUM(B:B).
- Multiply by 100 only if you are storing a plain number, not using percent formatting.
